Some of this blog, will consist of a collection of all the dirty, ingenious, sometimes reckless, other times brilliant little bits, tricks and means I’ve used, will use or have thought about using on my passage through this journey we call life. I do not consider myself to be an anarchist, non-conformist, or radical extremist. To do so, would pose a fundamental flaw to one of my core beliefs. Which I’ll get to soon. But first, a little background.
I became fascinated with magic at the age of 6, roughly the same year my grandmother and father died. It quickly became about more than just silly card tricks and hard-to-pronounce incantations. I’ve spent (perhaps ‘misspent’) most of my life studying, practicing, and perfecting the ability of manipulating people’s attention, deceiving people senses, lying to people, leading people, knowing where someone is looking, knowing what someone is seeing, avoiding the truth, carefully calculating psychological and physical outcomes of different scenarios, and observing movement (be it my own movement, or others’).
Some might see this in a negative light, others might see it as the result of a poor upbringing, maybe a lonely childhood. I’m not here to argue or defend any of that. In fact, I have stopped wondering why I am the way I am. Instead I’ve started working on becoming the strongest version of myself. For now, please place your own moral prejudices and beliefs aside, don’t forget about them, just partially mute them while you’re here. Because nothing you will learn here is anything, anyone, anywhere has wanted you to learn, otherwise you wouldn’t be here. So we must go outside of the norm, outside of the ‘appropriate’ to get at the good stuff.
I can’t explain to you how it feels to be in my head, just as I could never understand fully what it’s like to be in yours. But I can explain to you how to start thinking and perceiving your world around you a little differently. When Mike is about to tell you a lie, there will be a slight variation in his behavior, you are usually looking even when you don’t see; when Jessica drops her pencil, and bends over to pick it up, she is revealing copious amounts of precious information; what people aren’t saying often speaks louder than what they are saying, you just have to learn to hear and not just listen. With a bit of guidance, and a lot of work, you can train your brain to enjoy a louder, more ubiquitous reality, through more information available, with a stronger memory, your reality becomes more convenient. You can navigate it more readily.
At this point, I must add that I don’t believe in psychics, mediums, paranormal powers, the existence of any form of deity, etc. I believe that there is nothing remotely spiritual about what I will be sharing with you. While I do believe in a harmony of the mind and body, labeling any of this blog’s content as being something belonging to something other than entirely tangible, measurable and logical is futile.
I must warn you, I have been called many things, here are some of the ones I laughed at, liked, or remember the most: god damned psychic, alien, God, Jesus, the devil, the devil’s son, the devil incarnate, satan, Zeus’ cousin, black-magic-man, the gentleman cheat, mind-fu**er, unholy genius, Sherlock, a government’s nightmare. Once you start reading more of what I share with you, putting it into practice, and if you decide to keep the modus operandi (how you did it or knew it) a secret, many people may very well start thinking of you as “special” or “other worldly” quite quickly. Please don’t let this get to your head too much. If you’re suffering from a lack of self-esteem, or self-confidence, than by all means, otherwise, please remember to be humble so that you can be even more brilliant: It’s quite easy to build an excessively annoying ego when one is being compared to Zeus or God every day, so don’t.
Keep making the ordinary, extraordinary.
Until next time,
-AK
